The June Tune

The June Tune

Just got a message that the much awaited Cock Invaders record is just around the corner. Psyched! Also just around the corner is a completely weird and beautiful release by Thomas Bergsten (Clouds & Pieces That Will Flip Your Lid) and a couple of nice releases from Phlu, one called ‘Weirdness’ and one remix-record with some lovely remixes by Coax, Olle Sjögren & Agen.

In other news, I’ve been updating all the download links for the releases, having moved all of them from Dropbox to our own server. Please report back if you find any broken links. I also noticed that some of the release-pages load pretty slowly in Firefox, which you shouldn’t be using of course, but just in case you do; get Chrome.

Also, Harvey Steel to play at Kleppanfestivalen in August – check it!

Happy Birthday!

MarsMelons is 3 years old today! 47 releases in three years ain’t too bad. I was going to release Thomas Bergsten’s new record today as a birthday present, but my exams have gotten the best of me, and the release is therefore delayed. We have, however, added some nice social media buttons to all the releases. So now you can like and tweet and pin and reddit stuff as much as you’d like. If you miss a particular social media thing, let me know, and I might add it.

Finally, a big shout out to Stjerna who just recently became a father!

3 new releases

MarsMelons 45, 46 and 47 is out! Sterk Te brings you the noise for your choice of voice, Thomas Bergsten’s Frank Walker hits the ground running representing the first radio drama released on the label, and Wasserfall returns with four lovely edits to groove your worries away. And a good day to you, sir!

Upcoming releases

Blimey, blimey! We have some new stuff from Phlu (this guy is hyper productive) in the pipeline, and some of it is swell sounding, nothing like you’ve heard him do before – nice! I’m also eagerly awaiting a few tracks from Eddie, which we will hopefully be able to release pretty soon (although I’m not exactly holding my breath on this one, haha). Oskars Herlins, who released a wonderful record on the label a good three years back, have just sent me his second record for the label, and boy is it sweet! Modern classical music at its best, no wonder this guy is getting commissions and gigs all around his native Latvia at the moment. We also have a few very interesting edits by Wasserfall lying around, which will be released soon enough. Finally, Stegan Tango just showed me some of the stuff he has been working on recently, which we will hopefully release whenever he has the material for an EP – and it’s sounding very good, something like a mix between an upbeat version of Six Orders of Addmittance and Bibio.

So, no reason to not stay tuned – smell the fume from the loom, June!
