Forums are up!

We’ve been talking about creating a sharing platform for users & visitors of MarsMelons – and now it’s up! Check out and register at our brand new forums;

http://www.marsmelons.com/forums/

Share a track you’ve made for a remix, share VST’s and production techniques, post a link to some inspiring shit you’ve seen or heard, a nude photo of your girlfriend or a video of your cat doing tricks. Anything goes. Keep it comin’. A link to the forums has been added to the top menu of the website.

Dimensional Spit

You wouldn’t believe what happened to Phlu the other day. Read all about it and check out his latest release ‘Weirdness‘. Sick!

Soulful summer mix by balErik up in the mixes section today as well – check it out!

Also, I’ve added a nice and big ‘Download Full Release’-button to all the releases, so that there should be no doubt that you can in fact download every single release (that is indeed all of the tracks + artwork) on MarsMelons for free. Really, it’s true, we wont’t charge you anything or send you to some shit sponsor’s website for it either.

Tags & Licenses

In an attempt to join the Merlin Network (to get the releases up on Spotify), I have added a creative commons license to all the releases, which are now stored within .nfo files in the respective releases’s zips. I’ve also gone through all the mp3-tags and brushed it all up – clean as a whistle! So, if you want the 100% up to date MarsMelons archive, with .nfo files and properly tagged mp3-files, you better get downloading!

In other news, there are tons of spruced gash in the pipeline; Gunerius Quack Och Dom Andra, Space Girls and Rutotkak. Harpwnd!

The June Tune

Just got a message that the much awaited Cock Invaders record is just around the corner. Psyched! Also just around the corner is a completely weird and beautiful release by Thomas Bergsten (Clouds & Pieces That Will Flip Your Lid) and a couple of nice releases from Phlu, one called ‘Weirdness’ and one remix-record with some lovely remixes by Coax, Olle Sjögren & Agen.

In other news, I’ve been updating all the download links for the releases, having moved all of them from Dropbox to our own server. Please report back if you find any broken links. I also noticed that some of the release-pages load pretty slowly in Firefox, which you shouldn’t be using of course, but just in case you do; get Chrome.

Also, Harvey Steel to play at Kleppanfestivalen in August – check it!

Happy Birthday!

MarsMelons is 3 years old today! 47 releases in three years ain’t too bad. I was going to release Thomas Bergsten’s new record today as a birthday present, but my exams have gotten the best of me, and the release is therefore delayed. We have, however, added some nice social media buttons to all the releases. So now you can like and tweet and pin and reddit stuff as much as you’d like. If you miss a particular social media thing, let me know, and I might add it.

Finally, a big shout out to Stjerna who just recently became a father!

She’s got a new dress!

… she’s gonna look her best. Welcome to the brand new MarsMelons! The music is in focus with this new design – we’ve added a “live”-function, where we’ll try to keep you updated on who’s playing where at all times, there’s an own “mixes”-section now – where a brand new exciting mix from Wasserfall, Vaage & Sjögren has been posted today, and within each release-page there’s a “donate”-button, where you as a visitor can donate any sum of money to any artist through PayPal.

A new release by Latvian composer Oskars Herlins has been posted today, and four more releases will follow in the days to come. If you experience any issues or have any feedback on the new site, please send it to mail [at] marsmelons.com.

Close to launch

Added all the 39 releases today, got an event-widget in, fixed a PayPal-donate button, and seem to be just a few minor details away from launch. Nice.

Re-Design

Currently working on the re-design. Struggling with some custom fields and some other minor things, but it’s going pretty smooth. Looks very nice so far, I think. Lorem ipsum klipsunn dupdidum klum hum, stupid latin shit. Thanks to PremiumPixels!
