Oskars Herliņš

Oskars Herliņš playing live

In the middle of the 1990’s Oskars started to create music on the ZX-Spectrum 128, mainly using Pro Tracker software, at the same period he started to play electric guitar. Skip a few years forward and you find Oskars studying philosophy for six years at the University of Latvia, something he himself claimed “seriously influenced his life”. Later, he would go on to study classical composition and music theory.

In 2008 Oskars participated in master classes of young musicians in Ogre city, Latvia, where a composition contest was held, at which he won a prize by publishing house Musica Baltica – publication of one of the submitted pieces “Etīde diviem” (“Etude for two”). During his studying of electronic music at Engelsholm, Oskars won the Electrochock music contest, with the piece “Through Imaginary Worlds”. Needless to say, Oskars is a man of talent and maker of interesting music.
